Material platform

From ocean biomass
to precision material

SargasFoam is a material manufacturer, not a finished-goods brand. We process raw sargassum seaweed at our own facility and supply engineered material formats — foams, pellets, liquid binders, and coating additives — directly to packaging manufacturers, product engineers, and procurement teams.

Controlled supply chain

We operate our own collection and processing. Lead times, batch consistency, and specification sheets are available at NDA stage. We do not rely on third-party biomass sourcing.

Multiple output formats

Foam slabs, bonded pellets, liquid binder, and coating additive — each engineered for specific processing environments. Your equipment, your process, our material.

Private label & co-development

Custom density, particle size, or binder ratios available under NDA for volume partners. Proprietary formulation details disclosed at LOI stage.

All data from internal characterisation testing. We do not claim compliance with ISTA, ASTM, or specific regulatory frameworks at this stage. Formal third-party validation programme is underway — results will be shared with partners as available.

Testing & validation

Where we are in the process

We are an early-stage material company operating at commercial pilot scale. We believe in transparency about what has been verified and what is still in progress.

Our current validation programme covers material characterisation, biobased content measurement, and mechanical property mapping across our core foam grades. We are actively seeking packaging manufacturer partners for application-specific co-validation.

We do not make certification claims we cannot yet substantiate. Technical data sheets reflect our current internal data. Third-party test results will be added as they become available.

Internal material characterisation
Density, moisture, compression modulus across all foam grades. Data available on request.
Biobased content certification
EN 16640 testing in progress with accredited laboratory. Results expected Q3 2026.
Mechanical performance — third party
Independent compression, impact, and rebound testing initiated. Partner programme open.
Food contact & regulatory screening
Not yet initiated. Required for food-adjacent applications. Timeline TBD.

Responsible claims

What we can — and cannot — say today

We operate in a space where marketing pressure often outpaces verification. We choose to be precise. The following reflects our current substantiated position — not a marketing aspiration.

We can say this
Our foam is manufactured from harvested sargassum seaweed
Sargassum is a rapidly renewable marine resource with no freshwater or land use
Internal testing indicates ≥ 85% biobased content by weight in our foam grades
Our material is compostable in industrial composting conditions based on current knowledge — formal certification pending
We are actively engaged in third-party validation testing
Sargassum harvest contributes to coastal ecosystem relief in affected coastal regions worldwide
Not yet substantiated
ESD-safe or electrostatic dissipative properties — not tested
Compliance with ISTA, ASTM, or specific regulatory packaging standards
Drop-in replacement for EPS or PE foam without tooling or process assessment
Zero off-gassing or VOC claims — not formally tested
Food contact clearance — regulatory review not yet initiated
Formal carbon footprint or LCA data — assessment in planning stage

Procurement

Samples, MOQ & supply terms

We supply directly to manufacturers, packaging engineers, and procurement departments. No distributors in our current chain. The following covers our standard procurement tiers.

Evaluation tier
Sample kit

Material samples for specification and testing. Intended for R&D, materials engineers, and procurement qualification.

Kit includes:

  • Up to 4 material grades (200 g each)
  • Internal technical data sheet per grade
  • Application notes
  • Direct contact with our technical team
Pilot tier
25–100 kg per SKU

Pre-production volume for process validation and trial runs. Standard lead time 4–6 weeks from order confirmation.

Terms:

  • NDA signed before dispatch
  • Lot certificate and batch report included
  • Returnable sample fee credited on volume order
  • DDP available to EU, UK, US main ports
Volume & private label

Volume pricing, custom formulation (SF-X10), and private-label arrangements are discussed at NDA stage. We are actively seeking 2–3 volume manufacturing partners for co-development agreements in 2026.

Origin & process

From beach to production line

We control the full value chain from biomass collection to material output. This is the foundation of our supply consistency and the reason we can provide traceability data.
